Linda Sue (Phillips) Hyde, age 72, passed away on December 5 while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, doing what she loved.
Linda was born on January 12, 1953, in Jerome, Idaho, to Merle Phillips and Doris Hopper Phillips. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1971 and went on to graduate from Links School of Business in Boise in 1973. She worked for the phone company, where she met her husband, Joe Hyde. They were married until Joe’s passing in 2020.
After retiring, Linda taught in the special needs program in Idaho City.
Linda deeply loved her family and friends and found great joy in traveling the world. She was generous, kind, and loving, and her warmth will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Joe Hyde; four granddaughters, Adriana (Nick), Ashley, Samantha and Morgan; eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lorene and Debbie and four nieces Lotte (Ron), Tammy, LaLanne, Jodie and one nephew John whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hyde; her parents, sister Jackie; and her niece, Loree.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on January 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Jerome, Idaho.
