Randolph “Randy” Alan Burgess, 67, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born April 14th, 1958, in Lincolnton, NC to Mary Ann (Brewington) Burgess and Troy Burgess, Sr.
Randy graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1975. He started working for USC as Printing Manager at USC Printing, where he dedicated 34 years.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Troy Burgess, Sr., and nephew, John Rauch, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Burgess; daughters, Adrienne Malcolm and Courtney Burgess (Clint); grandsons, Ethan, Miles, Brandon, and Owen; brother, Troy Burgess, Jr. (Lynn); sisters, Derinda Adams (Bryan) and Shelia Rauch; nephew, Slade Adams; nieces, Casey Sharpe and Denise Godwin; former wife and mother of his children, Cindy Shirey, and former wife, Mary Bowen.
He was a man who found joy in working with his hands. Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing, hunting, and rebuilding old cars, bringing life back into things others might have given up on. Above all, he loved his family. His strength and wisdom will be missed more than words can express. He will forever be remembered for his generous heart, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 1PM at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with a visitation one hour prior. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
