Steve Galloway, age 66, of Forest Lake and White Bear Lake, passed away on October 10, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Galloway, and his mother-in-law, Yvonne Schoenecker.

Steve will be deeply missed by his loving wife of over 37 years, Stephanie; his children, Andrea, Joshua, Brianna, and Sean (Olivia); his mother, Mary; his siblings, Greg (Robin), Melinda (Rick), Juan Jr (Marilyn), Cindy, and Leann (Mike); and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Steve was born and raised in St. Paul, where he later met the love of his life, Stephanie. Together they built a beautiful life and raised their family in White Bear Lake. He began his career as a brewer at Stroh’s Brewery and was a proud member of the IAMAW. Driven by his dedication and passion for the union, Steve went on to build a remarkable career, ultimately retiring as the IAMAW General Vice President of the Midwest Territory, a role he held with great pride.

Steve’s love for people was unmistakable. His warmth, laughter, and quick wit could brighten any room the moment he walked in. He had a gift for turning strangers into friends and bad days into good ones.

From playing hockey as a young man to coaching for many years, most proudly his sister and his son, his love for the sport spanned his entire life. Even after stepping away from coaching, Steve would find time to attend a game or two, drawn by the energy and the joy in the atmosphere. Beyond his love for hockey, he generously volunteered his time and supported numerous charitable organizations. A natural caregiver, Steve was always willing to lend a helping hand, a value he carried throughout his life.

Whether sitting by the pool in Arizona or gathered around a table in Minnesota, Steve cherished time spent with his mom and siblings. Those long conversations filled with laughter, childhood stories, and shared memories were moments he treasured deeply. He was a devoted son and a loving brother, and the bonds he shared with his family were truly special.

After more than 37 years together, the love Steve and Stephanie shared never faded. They went through life’s many triumphs and trials always emerging stronger, closer and more in love. In retirement, Steve enjoyed spending time at the lake, but his favorite moments were those spent with Stephanie by his side. Their countless adventures created unforgettable memories that Stephanie will forever hold close to her heart.

Steve’s children were his greatest pride and joy. His love for them knew no bounds, and he made it a priority to be present, never missing a hockey game, dance recital, swim meet, or choir concert. He encouraged them to chase their dreams and cheered louder than anyone when they succeeded. And while there was always a running joke about who the “number one kid” was, they each knew they held that place in his heart.

Though Steve’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him. His legacy of love lives on through his family and friends, and in the countless lives he touched.

We love you, Ski.
