James Michael Brady, May 21, 1953 – January 2, 2026

James Michael Brady, 72, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2026, while enjoying life aboard a cruise ship in Martinique; a fitting farewell for a man whose zest for life and laughter touched everyone he met. Born May 21, 1953, in Orange, New Jersey, to Francis and Catherine Brady (both deceased), Jim grew up in Hasbrouck Heights, where family gatherings and summers at the Jersey Shore shaped his love for family and the simple joys of life.

Jim’s academic journey reflected his determination and intellect: University of Dayton for his undergraduate degree, a master’s from Central Michigan University, and finally earning his Juris Doctor from Cooley Law School. He went on to become a respected attorney and proud member of the Bar Association, known for his sharp mind and strong wit.

After spending 30 years in Michigan and 12 years in Northern Virginia, Jim settled in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, where he made his home for the past six years.

Jim was the family’s anchor. He was the life of every party, a loyal friend, and a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He cherished time with his wife, Debbe, his children Lisa (partner Erik Zinsmeyer), Jim (spouse Bethany), and stepdaughter Jen Silvers (partner Jim Kruger). His greatest joy was his grandchildren: Riley Jensen, Beau Brady, Timothy and Jackson Zinsmeyer.

Jim shared countless memories with his siblings: Joanne (Joseph Cassese), Daniel (Helena) and Kathleen Nugent (Sam, deceased), along with cousins, nieces and nephews who all adored his humor and wisdom.

Jim loved to travel and good-naturedly endured Debbe’s Springsteen obsession, often joking that he couldn’t retire while Bruce was still performing—though he secretly enjoyed the concerts and even loved being in the pit

He loved baseball not just for wins, but for what the game teaches about life. As a devoted Yankee fan, he believed that success belongs to those willing to make the adjustment. He also delighted in watching all his grandchildren play sports: Riley basketball, Beau on his bike and baseball games with Timothy and Jackson.

His laughter and loyalty will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to honor Jim’s life on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Loyless Funeral Homes, 5310 Land O’Lakes Blvd., Land O’Lakes, FL. Visitation begins at 2:00 PM, with services at 3:00 PM.
