It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Priscilla Louise Owens on Wednesday December 17, 2025, at the age of 77. She passed at Lexington Medical Center with her husband of 54 years by her side.
Priscilla was born in Jacksonville, NC and grew up on an U.S. Marine Corps Base. She graduated Jacksonville High School in 1967 and later met and married Charles Owens in May 1971. While early years were defined by motherhood with three children, she later found joy and fulfillment working in food service at White Knoll Elementary and Carolina Springs Elementary schools as worker and manager for 20+ years. In her off time she would travel to spend time with her brother, two sisters and nieces and nephews in North Carolina and Virginia Beach every summer. She enjoyed cross stitching and canvas needlepoint. Later in life her favorite part was with her two granddaughters. They were the light of her life. She enjoyed every moment with them, from baking together to watching ‘Monk’ on tv together.
Priscilla was the daughter of the late James and Leota Simmons Riley. Priscilla was predeceased by two sisters; Patricia Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA and Barbara Jean Riley of Beulaville, NC and her ‘little’ brother James Michael Riley III of Jacksonville, NC.
Priscilla leaves behind husband of 54 years Charles M Owens, two sons; Christopher Owens (Kristy), Kevin Owens and one daughter, Suzanne Owens. Two nieces Cathy Lascari (Les) of VA, Cindy Johnson of VA, two nephews Chuck Johnson (Liz) of VA and James Riley (Deanna) of NC, and her two grandchildren Madison Avery and Cassidy Harper whom she adored and loved deeply.
At Priscilla’s request no services will take place but we appreciate your love and support.
