Mrs. Elsie Mary (Jaramillo) Dorsey, 89, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025.
She was born July 16, 1936, in San Mateo, NM, to the late Dube (Joe) and Feliz (Montano) Jaramillo.
She married James R. Dorsey February 2, 1957, at the Methodist Church in Montrose, CA. James preceded her in death on March 11, 2018.
After their marriage, Elsie and James resided in California, where they raised their two sons, James E. and Thomas E. "Ted" Dorsey, including years spent in Simi Valley, CA. Elsie worked alongside her husband as a secretary in his surveying business.
In 1996, James accepted a position as a County Surveyor with Clark County in Nevada, and the couple relocated to Henderson, NV. After James' retirement in 2006, they moved to Reno, NV.
Following her husband's passing in 2018, Elsie returned to California to be closer to her family, settling in Yuba City, CA.
Elsie enjoyed being with her family, traveling with her husband on his many business trips, and attending outings with her grandchildren.
She loved watching her great grandchildren grow and thrive, and cherished spending time with her dear friend Julie whom she met in Yuba City.
Elsie is survived by her son, Thomas E. "Ted" Dorsey and wife Sue of Yuba City; sister, Cecelia (Warren) Carver of Tucson, AZ; daughter-in-law Kathleen Higgins (James E.) of Texas City, TX; grandchildren, Luke (Chrissy) Dorsey, Curtis (Christa) Dorsey, and Mitchel (Faith) Dorsey; great grandchildren, Kendalynn, Charley, Easton, Jeremiah, and Shawn Dorsey; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Dorsey; son, James E. Dorsey; sister, Angie Sieracki (Jaramillo); and brother-in-law, Stan Sieracki.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM, on January 14, 2026, at Saint Isidore Catholic Church in Yuba City, CA.
Burial will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in Reno, NV.
