Gary Edwin Adamson, 80 and husband of Jeanne Cahoon Adamson passed away at home on Monday, January 12, 2026. He was born to the late Earl Adamson and Bethel McNeely Adamson on May 11, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a Christian, and he served our nation honorably in the U.S. Air Force.
Gary was a graduate of Salem High School in Salem, Indiana, Class of 1963. He had a successful career as a biomedical engineer in many hospitals, including St. Joseph and Good Sam hospitals in Lexington.
He was an avid pickleball player. It has been his greatest passion for the last ten years. He will be dearly missed by his pickleball group at Beaumont YMCA. He also enjoyed canoeing and hiking.
Gary never met a stranger and was quick with a joke and a smile.
In addition to his loving wife of 11 years, he is survived by his children, Kyle Nathan (Dana) Adamson, Blaine Michael (Amy) Adamson, and Katina Marie Adamson; Jeanne’s children, Alex (J.C.) Neblina and Nicholas Cahoon; brother Ronald (Anita) Adamson; four grandchildren, Bailey (Caleb) Miles, Hayden (Anna) Adamson, Ethan Adamson, and Will Adamson; and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing, 601 East Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the YMCA of Central Kentucky (https://ymcacky.org/give).
