Clementina Sandoval, lovingly known as Mama Tina, passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2026, in Fairfax County, at the age of 99.

She was born on November 14th, 1926, in Jalapa, Guatemala, and lived a life defined by deep love, sacrifice, and devotion to family. Mama Tina’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting assurance that everyone who walked through her front door was family.

Mama Tina was exceptionally loving, caring, and gentle, the kind of person whose presence brought peace and comfort. She had a heart big enough to embrace everyone and made each person feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Her kindness was unwavering, and her love knew no limits.

She is reunited in heaven with her beloved late husband, Patrocinio Sandoval, affectionately known as Papa Chino, who passed away in 2010, and her cherished son, Edgar Sandoval, who passed away in 2018.

Mama Tina leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her five children, 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren, all of whom carry her love, values, and spirit forward. Her impact will be felt for generations, not only through her family but through every life she touched with her compassion and care.

Mama Tina will be remembered as the most loving person, a true matriarch whose life was a living example of unconditional love. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her children, too, and they praise her: ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”’ Proverbs 31:28–29
