Sharron Traver-Muzio, 76, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away on December 26, 2025, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Martin O’Brien and Mildred (Mannion) O’Brien.
A woman of grace, strength and compassion, Sharron lived a life defined by love and generosity. She dedicated over 35 years to successfully running her own business, a reflection of her perseverance and creativity. In 1994, she married the love of her life, Mark Muzio, and together they built a life filled with laughter, travel and the simple joys of companionship.
A gifted chef and traveler, Sharron delighted in preparing meals for friends and family and found great joy exploring the streets of Paris and the beaches of Mexico. She was equally devoted to caring for her husband and her beloved cats and spent much of her free time helping the elderly in her community, offering comfort and companionship wherever it was needed.
Sharron is survived by her husband, Mark, her brother, Phillip O’Brien and her son Sean Strollo. She was preceded in death by her siblings Paul O’Brien and Olive Meirjewski
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, FL on January 14 at 11 a.m. and a second service will take place in Naugatuck, CT on February 7.
Do not stand
At my grave and weep
I am not there
I do not sleep
I am a thousand
Winds that blow
I am the gentle
Autumn rain
I am the soft stars
That shine at night
Do not stand
At my grave and cry
I am not there
I did not die
- Hopi Prayer
