Janice H. Young, age 79, entered into eternal rest and the presence of her Lord and Savior on January 2, 2026. She was the beloved widow of James M. Young and the devoted mother of Jason Edward Boland.
Janice was born on December 28, 1946. She will be remembered for her gracious spirit, steadfast faith, and unconditional love for others. Her life was a testimony to her deep and abiding trust in the Lord and her commitment to living according to His word.
Janice earned a college degree in dental hygiene and began her professional career in that field. She later worked in the furniture industry and went on to specialize in decorating and interior design. Together with her cherished friend, Martha Kennedy - Janice designed many homes for both clients and area home shows. She was widely respected for her professionalism, creativity, and integrity, and for the ingenious way she created spaces where people immediately felt at home.
A woman of prayer and compassion, Janice faithfully shared love, encouragement, and prayer with all whom she encountered. She was a longtime and devoted member of Good News Church, where she worshiped, served, and grew in her faith. She was also an avid animal lover, reflecting God’s love through her gentle care for all of His creatures.
In addition to her son, survivors include her stepson, Robert “Bobby” Young; her sister, Jacquelyn Howard; and her brother, Jim Howard. She is also survived by her loving pets, Maverick, Tundra, and Salem.
A memorial service celebrating Janice’s life and faith will be held at Good News Church, located at 400 Warren Road, Augusta, Georgia 30907, on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Matt Judd officiating. A luncheon in the church’s Commons will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good News Church Outreach Program.
