Daniel “Dan” Paul Fletcher AKA "Clint"

April 13, 1947 – January 5, 2026

Daniel “Dan” Paul Fletcher, age 78, of Forest Lake, MN, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. A proud Vietnam Veteran and a lifelong Minnesotan, Dan will be remembered for his deep love of family, his mechanical mind, and his passion for the outdoors.

A Life of Service and Dedication Born in St. Paul on April 13, 1947, to Bernard Paul Fletcher and Elizabeth Yvonne (Bette) Gallagher, Dan was the eldest of nine children. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Dan built a career defined by hard work and a knack for precision, working at Voglin Optical, the U.S. Post Office, and Lee’s Auto, before eventually retiring from Cemstone.

The Great Outdoors and a Love for Machinery Dan was happiest when he was active. In his younger years, he spent many days hunting alongside his dog or waiting for a bite on the end of a fishing line. He was a true enthusiast of the "open road," with a lifelong passion for motorcycles and a legendary devotion to Dodge vehicles and old cars. When he wasn’t under a hood, he could be found admiring the power of trains or carefully tending to his coin collection.

Family Legacy As the patriarch of a large and vibrant family, He is survived by his son, Daniel Paul Fletcher Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Fletcher; his grandchildren, Dylan (Bre), Dean Jr. (Liz), and Samantha; and four great-grandchildren.

Being the oldest of the "Fletcher Nine," he leaves behind his siblings: Jeffery (Vicki), Ried (Lisa),Cyndy (Jim) SImons Christopher (Ranie), Tina Carleton Toyne (George), and Wade (Amanda). He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Susan (Dale Johnson) and Elizabeth Yvonne (Lisa); and his grandparents, Randall and Mary Fletcher, and Guy and June Nelson.

Interment Dan will be laid to rest with military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.To be determined at a later date.
