(Hector M. Cancel), (92), of (Passaic, N.J. and Tampa, FL), passed away on (January 11, 2026) in (Tampa).

(Hector) was born in (Ponce, Puerto Rico) to (Maria Isabel Garcia and Ramon Cancel Martinez). He graduated (high school). He served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War until his discharge in 1956. He married (Zoraida Esther Torres) in (San Juan P.R.). He worked as a (Distribution Supervisor) for (Whatman, Inc., Clifton, N.J.) (until retirement). A devoted husband, father and grandfather, baseball and music lover. He loved and supported his family, was admired and loved by them and will be deeply missed.

(Hector) is preceded in death by (beloved wife, Zoraida, and brother Jose Antonio Santiago Garcia and sister Esther Conde Garcia).

(Hector) is survived by (brother Ramon “Chin” Cancel and children Maribel Chekan and Hector Cancel Jr. and their spouses, Theodore Chekan and Ericson Hidalgo, grandchild Andrew Chekan and a niece and nephews.)

(Visitation) will be (2-4 pm) (Monday) (January 19, 2026) at (Loyless Funeral Home, Land O’ Lakes, Florida)

Funeral services following from (4-6 pm ) (Monday) (January 19,2026) at (Loyless Funeral Home) with the (Deacon Jose Maronda) of (St. Marks Catholic Church), officiating.
