Mary Ann (Sutlovich) Bishop, age 94, a lifelong resident of the Interbay-Magnolia area of Seattle, passed into the hands of God on January 11, 2026. Mary was born on June 1st, 1931 to Mario Sutlovich and Bertha (Zuvich) Sutlovich, immigrants from Veli Iz, Dalmatia, Croatia. Mary graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1949. Following graduation Mary began working for Pacific Northwest Apparel Association, as the Executive Director, where she remained until her retirement at age 68. Always proud of her Croatian heritage, Mary belonged to the Croatian Fraternal Union for many decades.
Mary loved gardening, antiques, and cooking. She could always be found at her children’s or grandchildren’s sporting events and was a huge Seattle Sports fan. For many years, she and her sister, Louise Major, oversaw the antique/collectable tables at the parish rummage sales.
Mary is survived by her son Mark Bishop (Lynne Bishop), her grandchildren Melanie Reid (Andrew Reid) and Danielle Sapien (Andrew Sapien), and her Great-Grandchildren Payton Reid, Tyson Reid, and Natalie Sapien. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Tim Carson, brother-in-law, Dick Major and many other relatives both here and in Croatia. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Homer, her daughter Laurie, and her sister Louise Major. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3218 Barrett St. in Seattle, WA on Friday February 6th at 11am, reception to follow. Private entombment will be at Holyrood Mausoleum.
Remembrances may be made to: Our Lady of Fatima School Fund, 3301 W. Dravus St. Seattle, 98199.
