Shirley Ann Geiger, age 84, of Seattle, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. Born in Cavalier County and raised in Walhalla, North Dakota, she later made Seattle her lifelong home where she lived the majority of her life. One of eight children, Shirley grew up surrounded by a large and loving family.  She became one of her class valedictorians, a reflection of her dedication and quiet determination that would characterize her entire life.  She worked for many years as a legal secretary, including in the Mayor’s Office at Corporation Counsel.

A devoted Catholic and member of St. Matthew’s Church since 1965, she served in the parish’s funeral ministry and rarely missed weekly Mass until the pandemic. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, taking daily walks, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Geiger, with whom she shared a long and devoted marriage until his passing in 2012. She is survived by four children Kelly, David, Sandra, and Mike, son -in- law Scott;  grandchildren Kyle and wife Sally,  Alissa and great grandchildren Kyler, and Hally; In-laws Gene and Janice and many nieces and nephews.

Per her wishes, no formal service will be held. Three Masses in her honor will take place this weekend at St. Matthew’s Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. A private burial will follow in the near future at Holyrood Cemetery.
