With great sadness, we announce that Norma Jean McInnis (née Lagassé) of Madawaska,Maine, North Tonawanda, NY, and The Villages, FL passed away on January 12, 2026, in TheVillages. She was 85 years old.
Norma was the youngest of 18 children, born in Madawaska, Maine to Eddie and AgnesLagassé on February 19, 1940. She graduated from Madawaska High School in 1958. Soonafterward, she moved to North Tonawanda, NY and worked for Union Carbide-Linde Divisionwhile her fiance was serving our country in the United States Navy. Norma married her highschool sweetheart, Robert McInnis on February 17, 1962 in North Tonawanda, NY. She was awonderful mother to one daughter and later returned to work as a clerk typist at the NorthTonawanda Board of Education where she worked for many years until her retirement in 2002.
Norma is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) McInnis, her daughter Kelly Ann Buckley(Joseph), her sister Maxine Lagassé, granddaughters Lauren Elizabeth Buckley (Daniel)Rebecca Kathleen Buckley (Brooke), Rachael Nicole Buckley, one great-granddaughter, AylaCapri Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of LIfe will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Hiers-BaxleyLife Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL, 32162.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the friends, family, and the community thatsupported her and her family throughout this journey. Norma was dearly loved and will bedeeply missed.
