In loving memory of Robert (Bob) Sanchez, of Denver, Colorado, born July 21,1939 and passed into eternal love on December 23, 2025.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bella Sanchez and his two children, Theresa and Beth Anne, as well as his siblings, Erma Trujillo, Sandra Manzo, Timothy Sanchez and Steve Sanchez.
In passing he joins his mother Antonia, father Juan Anselmo, and siblings, Arlene, Johnny, Rudy, Mary, Lena, Susie, Priscilla, and Celia.
He served his country in the US Coast Guard and later as a School Board Member, Union Organizer for bus drivers, and as President of the Skyline GI Forum for two terms. He donated thousands of dollars to the state in his attempts to win the Lotto. Like many others, he always over-reported his small winnings while under-reporting his donations.
Bob loved food and cooking and helped popularize Mexican and New Mexican foods in the Denver community through a retail store on Morrison Road called The Chile Store and Sanchez Distributing. He finished his career at City Park Golf Course.
Bob loved fishing, cooking, gardening, golf, football, boxing, telling stories, and spending time with family and friends. He was an affable man of many jokes and he will be deeply missed. His spirit is strong and will never leave us. Órale!
His funeral will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Bernadette’s Parish at 7240 W. 12th Avenue in Lakewood, followed by a reception on site.
