Nancy Jane Rorer Mills Jennings, 88 of Lynchburg, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Twice married; she was the widow of Rev. Robert E. Mills and John W. Jennings. Born August 12, 1937, in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late David Parker and Bessie Johnson Rorer. Nancy was a graduate of Brookville High School and a founding member of Eastbrook Baptist Church along with her first husband, Rev. Robert Mills. She is a member of Jordan Baptist Church in Lynchburg. She formerly worked for Food Lion and Revco Drug as well as with Diuguid Funeral Service at the Waterlick Road Chapel for over 30 years. She was a member of Rebekah Home Lodge #41 since 1998, Eastern Star since 2005 and Lynchburg L.A.P.M. #16 and Roanoke L.A.P.M. #11. She is survived by her two sons, Robert “Bobby” E. Mills, Jr. and his wife Apryl and Timothy D. Mills and his wife, Mary, two daughters, Susan M. Tyree and Linda M. Garner and her husband Roger; two step-daughters, Bennie Sprouse and her husband, Herbert, Peggy Toney and her husband, Robert, all of Lynchburg; 17 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, David P. Rorer, Jr., William E. Rorer, James D. Rorer and Benjamin P. Rorer; three sisters, Elizabeth Rorer, Helen Hahn and Mary Worley; and her son-in-law, Dwayne P. Tyree. The family wishes to thank Good Samaritan Hospice care givers , Althea Kidd, Brenda Coleman and Jamie Floyd for their wonderful and loving care to given to Nancy.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Jordan Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Carlton Dunn, Jr. and Wyatt A. Mills Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
