Kenneth Wayne Wilson was born on July 31, 1934, in Wynne, Arkansas to John and Helen Wilson. He passed away at Madigan Army Hospital on September 6, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington.

Ken spent the first 7 years of his life in Arkansas with grandparents who worked in cotton fields. Changes were made and Ken lived with his father, a gospel preacher who moved many times from Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, and California. Ken felt privileged to be able to attend Dasher Bible School in Valdosta, Georgia (presently known as Georgia Christian) for his high school education.

He joined the Air Force in 1952, serving 20 years. His duty assignments included Japan, McChord AFB. Plattsburg NY, Saigon Vietnam, Chad Africa, and Norton AFB California. Ken married Lillian Gilmore in June 1958.

He was a full-time preacher in Amarillo Texas but he needed to change the lifestyle for Lillian & himself. God provided a good opportunity to work overseas. He joined Bell Helicopter in Iran. Next, he worked for General Dynamics in Belgium, Pakistan, Ogden, Utah, Germany, and Greece. Ken took early retirement to move to Brussels, Belgium to serve as the minister for the French-speaking Church of Christ. He was there several years before moving back to Grand Rivers Kentucky as Lillian's health deteriorated. After 39 years of marriage, Lillian passed away.

Once again, Ken hit the mission fields, which included Albania, several African countries, and making encouraging visits to missionaries in the Netherlands, England, France, Belgium, Mauritius Island, Cambodia, Vietnam and many countries in Africa.

Ken married Ida Belle Byrd Rohr in February 1998. Interesting fact: She was Lillian's cousin. In 2003, Ken & Ida decided to move to Eatonville, WA to help in the care of Ida's mother. Ken filled many of his days by translating English versions of Bible commentaries into French.

As his eyesight was failing, he quit translating until he was asked to translate a 2 volume set of books on the Life of Jesus from English into French. It was an answer to his prayer to make him more useful. He looked upon this task as pure enjoyment - not work. He was nearly to the end of volume one at the time of his passing.

Ken is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ida. Daughters, Cindy (Michael) Deskis, and Debi (Alan) Himes. His sister, Paige (Mason) French and brother Gordon. He had 4 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Lillian, sister Christine, his father, John Wilson, and mother Helen Lierbert. Ken felt blessed to add daughter Kim (Mark) Liebich, son, Andrew Rohr and Doug Keeney to his family, along with 4 more grandchildren. He leaves many Christian friends around the world.
