Obituary for Jerry Edwin Reeves

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jerry Edwin Reeves, a remarkable man who left us on December 21, 2025, in Olympia, Washington. Born on November 3, 1937, in Yuma, Arizona, Jerry lived a full and inspiring life, surrounded by his loved ones until the very end.

Jerry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Corinne B. Reeves, who shared a beautiful journey with him after their marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 7, 1961. Together, they raised a wonderful family that includes their sons, Andrew and Gregory Reeves, and daughter, Amy Reeves. Jerry's legacy is further enriched by his siblings, Jan Arther Reeves and Karen Jill Reeves Younkin, who will cherish his memory along with countless relatives and friends.

An avid lover of fishing, history, and politics, Jerry's passion for the world around him never went unnoticed. He dedicated much of his professional life to the National Marine Fisheries Services NDAA, where he made a significant impact in his field. His academic accomplishments were noteworthy as well; he earned a Bachelor of Science from Humboldt State University, followed by a Master’s and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jerry was known for his loyalty— a trait that defined his relationships with family and friends alike. He had a way of making connections that made people feel valued and heard. His loved ones will remember not only his accomplishments but the warmth of his heart and the vibrancy of his spirit. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Everett Reeves and Amy Linnea Sundberg Reeves, along with his great grandparents, which serves as a reminder of the familial bonds that shaped him.

As we celebrate Jerry's life, let's remember the laughter, adventures, and the countless moments he gifted us. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for the love he spread and the joy he brought into our lives. Please join us in honoring Jerry's memory.
