Margarito (Margo) Lopez, age 71, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and formerly of Pecos, New Mexico, passed away on January  03, 2026. 

Margarito was born in Pecos, New Mexico on December 16, 1954. He spent his childhood in Pecos and graduated from Pecos High School in 1972. He met and married his wife Eva Fernandez on November 15, 1980. Following his retirement from the City of Albuquerque Aviation Department, Margarito and his wife remained living in Albuquerque. 

Margarito was a hardworking man, who made others feel welcome. He will be remembered for his devotion to family and many hobbies including gardening, camping, fishing and traveling. Margarito’s compassion and generous nature will be remembered by all who knew him, he will be greatly missed. 

Margarito was preceded in death by his parents Juan Lopez and, wife Nemesia Lopez, and sister Maryann Nino.  

He is survived by his wife, Eva, two son’s Joshua (Josh) and Valentino (Tino); his grandchildren Nathaniel and Derrick, his sister, Beva Ortega, and two brothers Chris Lopez, and Blasito Lopez and many nephews and nieces.  

Appreciation is extended to Petra, Joshua, Valentino, Nathaniel and Derrick, Chris and Charla for their steadfast support throughout both challenging and joyful times. May he rest in peace. 

A Memorial Service and rosary will be recited on January 20th from 9:30 am-followed with a mass 10:00 at St. Edwin Catholic Church located on 2105 Barcelona Rd, Albuquerque, NM 87105. 

Services to follow at 12:00 pm at the Mount Calvary Cemetery on 1900 Edith Blvd., Albuquerque, NM 87102. 

The family extends an invitation for a reception to follow at St. Edwin Hall.
