It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ernestine Davis, who left this world on January 18, 2026. Born on May 28, 1967, in Macon, Georgia, she graced our lives for nearly fifty-nine years with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Ernestine's journey in life, characterized by her deep curiosity and loving nature, touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Ernestine is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Geraldine Davis Dodson. She leaves behind a cherished family that includes her siblings: Betty Williams, Edward J. Davis, Verona Davis, Shirley (Charles) Bronner, Michael (Jackie) Davis, Bernard Davis, and Patrice (Maurice) Smith. Her bond with her family was profound, supported by the devoted care of special caretakers: Tonya Clark, Mary Harvey, Maxine Walls, Linda Leary and Evelina Butts, who all played significant roles in her life.

Despite facing challenges in her ability to communicate verbally, Ernestine radiated love and warmth. Those fortunate enough to be in her presence could always count on her radiant smile that could light up any room. Her quiet strength, sincere curiosity and love shown to others through her eyes without a word being spoken endeared her to friends, like Wanda Burney, Mary Brown, Joyce Little, and cousin, Wilma Reeves, as well as a host of extended family and friends who will remember her fondly.

Her funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. Following the service, she will find her eternal rest beside her mother at Magnolia Park South Cemetery in Bonaire, Georgia.

As we remember Ernestine, let us take solace in the love she shared and the joy she brought into our lives. Her inspired spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
