Russell Keith Coufal, 73, passed away on January 13, 2026, in Lexington, South Carolina. He was born on October 24,1952 in Syracuse, New York to Albert and Harriet (Craver) Coufal.
Russell is survived by: Lonna Coufal (wife); Richard D. Coufal (son); and brothers Gary Wayne Coufal (Donna Coufal), Geoffrey Coufal (Gayle Coufal), Mark Coufal, and Leslie Coufal. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Richard Allen Coufal.
Russell worked at Crucible Steel in Syracuse, New York for 20 years, and then as a long-haul truck driver after moving to South Carolina in 1990. He was an excellent baseball player who played high school baseball and 5 years semi-pro baseball with the Split Rock Redbirds in Syracuse. He loved muscle cars. He was very proud of a 1968 Plymouth Satellite converting it to a Road Runner clone. Russell was a devoted father and grandfather.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Baptist Church, 2825 Ashland Road, Columbia, South Carolina, with Pastor John Hamilton presiding.

Interment will be at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Warners, New York.
