Edna S. Jackson, 88, died on January 16, 2026. She was born in Columbia, SC to the late Clinton L. Sanders, Sr. And Edna M. Sanders. Edna attended Olympia School system, where she was active in JHA, FBLA, and was on the girl's basketball team. She was the 1955 valedictorian of Olympia High School. After high school, she began her career at the M. Lowenstein Textile Mill. She followed this with a 31 year career at Bell South, where she eventually became the Assistant Manager for Buildings, Grounds and Motor Vehicles.
She married her sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Jackson. In their 69 years together, Edna and Bob enjoyed spending time together and traveling. In 1980, they began square dancing, enjoying this special time with friends for 15 years, including attending many National Square Dance Conventions. Edna and Bob have been active members of St. Andrews Baptist Church for more than 50 years, participating in Bible Study groups and Saints Alive for senior adults.
In addition to her husband, Edna is survived by her brother, Clinton “Bud” Sanders, Jr (Carolyn) of Elgin, SC; two sons, Brian Jackson (Brenda) of Cary, NC and Kevin Jackson (Carol) of Lexington, SC; and two grandchildren, Graham Jackson (Chenelle) and Rebecca Jackson. Her family believes her most important accomplishment in life was being an amazing wife, mother and “Nana”.
