Rubye Lynn (Farley) Tucker, daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at HCA Hospital on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 6:18 pm. She was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on September 24, 1941. The family moved to Creve Coeur, Illinois when she was a little girl. She attended and graduated from East Peoria High School. At the age of 20 she married William Eugene Tucker on February 12, 1962, in East Peoria at First Baptist Church. She and Bill settled and started their life in his hometown of Pekin, Illinois.
Rubye was preceded in death by her father James Farley, mother Mary (Linn) Farley, two brothers, Thomas and Jim, and her husband William (Bill) Tucker. Her sister Patsy Remmert is the remaining family member and lives near Nashville, Tennessee. She was a mother to 3 daughters and one son: Eugenia Lynn Tucker, Amanda Marissa (Tucker) Shaw, Matthew Tyler Tucker, and Johanna Maria (Tucker) Neltner. She had two grandchildren Spencer Ray Shaw and Montana Shari Neltner and three great grandchildren, Jiquez, Amari, and Jazmine Fair. Her family was the joy of her life.
Ruby was the caretaker of her father, mother, and husband. She loved receiving phone calls and text messages from her children, grandchildren, and friends. She sewed clothes that her daughters wore growing up. She loved to crochet, read books, decorate birdhouses, make scrapbooks, and decorate cakes. She was an extremely talented artist. She helped her husband deliver meals on wheels and tutored adults in the YMCA literacy program in Pekin. She enjoyed receiving pictures of her great grandchildren as well as writing letters to her lifetime friends and family members.
After the passing of her husband in 2012, she moved to Palm Bay, Florida where she lived with her daughter until August 2017. She spent two years back in Pekin and returned to live in Ocala, Florida from 2019 to her passing. She was a resident in Arbor Springs for three years. Through dedication to rehab, determination, and strong desire to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she went from being moved from her bed using a Hoyer to using a walker and returning home to live with her daughter Gena. She returned to Bridgewater and Arbor Springs for rehabilitation after a car accident in November 2025. On January 11th, she suffered a stroke and on the 19th due to her condition, hospice was contacted and again, she passed peacefully that night.
She loved her Lord and loved to go to church. She is back home with her heavenly father and family that has gone before her. There she can find peace, experience a renewed body, and Mospirit.
