Harold D. Hair, of Chapin passed away on January 20, 2026. A graduate of Columbia High School, he dedicated his career to The RL Bryan Company in Columbia, serving from 1940 until his retirement in 1986 as Vice President of Printing. He continued to advise the company on management and equipment investments after retirement.
Harold enjoyed following the USC Gamecocks, gardening, yard work and spending time at home living on Lake Murray. Harold Hair was a caring family man and a mentor whose kindness touched many. His wisdom and encouragement will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son Gary Hair; daughter in-law Judy Hair; granddaughter Lisa Darby(Trey) and great-granddaughter Charlotte Darby. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann Hair of 63 years; daughter Cynthia “Cindy” Weaver; his parents, Lula and James T. Hair; brothers, Earl, Jimmy, Johnny, Julius and Paul “Billy” and sister Elizabeth “Sister” Draughon.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 27, 2026, at Woodridge Memorial Park & Funeral Home in the Mausoleum Chapel in Lexington with services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff of Lutheran Hospice, especially Kris O’Barr, Toni Smith, Lisa Ruff, Omekia Jones, Christie Thomas, Pastor Karen Young, Teresa Tidwell and Rachel Rister, for their compassionate care.
