The world lost a beloved mother, Gloria J. Amavizca, on January 9th 2026. Gloria battled end stage renal failure and other medical ailments, but it never stopped her from being the best mother, grandmother, sibling or friend. Gloria died in her home surrounded by her children and grandson. Anthony, Juanita, Crystal and Davian. Gloria was born in Mesa, AZ on January 22, 1961. She claims to have learned everything she knew from her own loving parents.

 

Gloria worked in the medical field all her life taking the best care of others, when she was healthy she enjoyed going out dancing to Tejano music, she also loved baking for her family and friends. Gloria is survived by her 4 siblings, brother Steve, sister Helen, sister Patricia and youngest brother James. She was preceded in death by her brother Johnny and both her parents James Sr and Juanita Ormsby.   Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Gloria at Meldrum Mortuary 52 N Macdonald Mesa, AZ 85201 on Tuesday, February 3rd from 10am to 12pm The burial will be at The Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 N Center Rd Mesa, AZ 85201 immediately following the service at 12:30pm.
