Born on December 25, 1937, in Winstonville, Mississippi, Chris was a vibrant spirit whose love for literature and life left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Chris dedicated over 30 years to a career in social services, where she embodied the values of loyalty, generosity, and honesty—traits that endeared her to clients and colleagues alike. Her compassionate nature was a guiding force in her life, always seeking to uplift those around her. A true "read-aholic," Chris found solace and joy in the pages of books, often saying that she was never without one in hand. Her insatiable appetite for stories rivaled even the grandest libraries, as she explored countless narratives throughout her life. Those who were fortunate enough to share in her world were frequently gifted recommendations, and her enthusiasm for literature was contagious. Beyond her love for reading, Chris cherished the simple joys of life. She could often be found seated in front of a slot machine, a cigarette in hand, thoroughly enjoying the thrill of the moment. A Zoom memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24th, at 10 a.m. PST, allowing family and friends from afar to gather and celebrate Chris's remarkable life, sharing stories and fond memories. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we take solace in the lasting impact she has had on our lives.
