Richard Charles LaPlaca, 56, of Tucson, AZ, passed away at home on June 24,2024.

Born (June 9, 1968) and raised in South Jersey, Richard moved to Tucson in his early 20's and established his very successful business, LaPlaca Landscaping, which served the Tucson community for many years, until his passing. Richard loved horticulture, cooking (and eating!), spending time with loved ones and his beloved chihuahua, Puff.

He is survived by his mother Judith Keenan of Tucson, AZ, his father Richard LaPlaca (Dottie) of Chestertown, MD, his loving sisters, brother, nephews, nieces and many extended family members, as well as his dear Puff, who was adopted by Richard's family. Richard will be remembered for his desire to help others, his ability to fix almost anything, his love of the desert Southwest and his frequent use of the phrase "Hey, Man!".

No services are planned at this time. Following cremation, Richard's ashes will be spread in the Sonoran Desert. For anyone wishing to make a donation to honor Richard's memory, the family requests donations to the Pima Animal Care Center or charity of your choice.
