Joseph (Joe) Paul Roscoe Jr. (84) passed away peacefully January 21, 2026. He was born September 28, 1941.
Joe was raised and lived in Chicago IL until he retired and then enjoyed his retirement years in Pueblo and Lakewood CO.
Joe will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His greatest passions in life were spending time with his family, fishing, bowling, golfing and the occasional trip to the casino! He loved to make people laugh even until the end when he would ask for a margarita from the hospital staff.
He was married to his wife, Maria Roscoe (DeZutter), for 62 ½ years and raised five children.
While living and raising his family in Chicago, he was a long-time parishioner of St. Bartholomew’s Parish where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, sang in the choir, and was a Eucharistic and Liturgical minister. He worked in the finance department for Alden/Wickes Catalog Company and then retired from Otis Elevator Company.
When Joe retired, he and Maria moved to Pueblo, Colorado where they were parishioners of Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church where Joe became a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic minister and a member of the parish council. They then moved to a retirement community in Lakewood Colorado where he continued to bowl, sing in the community choir and play poker.
Joe is survived by his wife Maria; five children: Paul Roscoe (Pauline), Kathryn Fahey (Eugene), Allen Roscoe (Julie Channell), Lynn Fischer (Brent), Kenneth Roscoe (Vicky); seven grandchildren: Jennifer Roscoe, Elizabeth Roscoe (Travis Jordan), Andrew Roscoe (Jannae) Matthew Roscoe, Elena Bonitz, Justin Martinez (Taylor), Jacob Fischer (Cynthia),; two step grandchildren; Avery and Gage Newmiller; four great grandchildren: Lacie Jo and Parker Lynn Martinez, Emerson Therese and Josephine Pauline: his sister Betty Safarik (Frank), his brother Phillip Roscoe (Candy) and sister-in-law Annette Roscoe, his sister-in-law Suzanne Forte (Fred), his brother-in-law Rick DeZutter and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ann Marie Roscoe, his in-laws Wilfred and Elizabeth DeZutter and his brothers Richard and Ronald Roscoe, his brother-in-law Frank Safarik, his daughter-in-law Pauline Roscoe and his sister-in-law Candy Roscoe.
