Ronald R. Garcia, age 75, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.    Ronald dedicated his life to service—first to his country, then to his community, and always to his family.

He proudly served in the United States Army on active duty from 1973 to 1985, followed by continued service in the active reserves from 1985 to 1993. After his military career, Ronald continued serving his nation as a computer scientist with the Missile Defense Agency. He spent four years working in Washington, D.C., before moving to Colorado Springs, where he dedicated the majority of his career—17 years—at Schriever Air Force Base, retiring in 2016 after more than two decades of federal service.

A man of quiet generosity and steadfast commitment, Ronald gave his time as a volunteer with Pet Ambassadors at Penrose Hospital and with the Pikes Peak Road Runners, finding joy in helping others and giving back to his community.

Ronald is survived by his children, Ron and Kevin; his cherished grandchildren, Dakota, Berkley, Sydney, and Asher; his siblings: Frank (Lucy), Thomas (Carmella), Patrick (Kenda), and Theresa (Rich), and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his former wife, Patricia Tierney. By his side always was his beloved pet and loyal protector, Valiente, who brought him comfort and companionship.

Ronald will be remembered for his service, his compassion, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved.  His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with humility, kindness, and faith.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 PM at All Veterans Burial & Cremation Services, 1020 E. Fillmore Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907.

Ronald will be laid to rest with retired United States Army honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that charitable donations be made to Pet Ambassadors or to VA-affiliated charities of your choice.
