Jeffrey Craig Jordan, 65, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, following a devastating diagnosis of Glioblastoma.
Born on January 30, 1960, in Valdosta, Georgia, Jeff was the son of the late Lt. Col. Edward and Maude Jordan. A gifted athlete and scholar, he graduated from Lower Richland High School before attending the University of South Carolina, where he majored in Computer Science and Mathematics while playing both football and soccer. He furthered his education by earning an MBA from Southern Wesleyan University. Jeff spent his professional career as a dedicated Computer Project Manager, and upon retirement, he embraced his creative side, dedicating his time to writing screenplays, novels, and songs.
Jeff’s greatest milestone was his 42-year marriage to the love of his life, Laurie Latimer Jordan. Together they raised two wonderful and accomplished daughters, Allison Atkinson and Katie Metz. To know Jeff was to love him; he was the quintessential "life of the party". He was famously proud of his honorary status as "one of the girls" among Laurie’s college girlfriends. His legacy of service was marked by his work refounding the Sons of the Revolution, Palmetto Cincinnatium Society, and his honor as a Knight Chevalier with St. Stanislaus. Above all, Jeff’s greatest joy was traveling the world with his wife and being "Da" to his spirited grandson, Dylan, and his two creative granddaughters, Molly and Mabel.
He is survived by his wife, Laurie; his daughters, Allison (Jordan) Atkinson and Katie (Robert) Metz; and his cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Molly, and Mabel. He is also survived by his siblings, James (Lisa) Jordan and Margaret (Wade) Osburn; his nieces, Erin Jordan and Kirkland (Rob) Paturzo; his brother-in-law, Brandt Latimer; and his nieces and nephew, Ashley (Ethan) Latimer, Caroline (Macey) Latimer, and Blake (Savannah) Latimer. He also leaves behind his beloved Munnerlyn cousins, whom he jokingly claimed "custody" of in the event of a divorce from the love of his life. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Jordan.
A service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church, located at 5503 Sunset Blvd, Lexington, SC. A visitation will follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jeff’s memory to Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church.
