Joseph “Joe” R. Lee Jimerson of Live Oak, CA, passed away peacefully at 76, on January 20, 2026, in Yuba City, CA. Joe was born July 30 1949, in Portageville, MO. He was a resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for 70 years. He was in the US Army from 1967 to 1969, serving in Vietnam in the Airborne Division. After coming home, he became a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department until 1976. He and his wife, Shirley, made Live Oak, CA, their home for 50 years, during which he became co-owner, then owner of Goslin Auto Parts from 1976 to 1985. They opened Jimerson Family Pizza from 1980 to 1994, both in Live Oak. Joe devoted many years to the hardwood business and later retired from Jimerson Hardwood & Gunstock. Joe is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 58 years; daughter, Julie and Scott Davis; son, Will and Jennifer Jimerson; grandchildren, Abigail and Andrew Bogdonoff, Nathan and Melissa Jimerson, Cassidy Davis, Agustin Gomez, Brady Jimerson, and Jon Peters; great-grandchildren, Sam Peters and Baby Bogdonoff; brother, Jerry and Kathy Jimerson; sister, Judy and Rodger Hancock; and sister-in-law, Jackie Jimerson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Genevieve May; brother, Jim Jimerson; and niece, Kathleen Hancock Larsen. Celebration of Life will be February 8, 2026, from 2 PM to 4 PM, at the Native Daughter’s Hall 7393 Lyon St., Sutter, CA.
