Lois Ruth (Griebenow) Kemerer, 86, passed away peacefully at home in Loveland, Colorado, on January 6, 2026.

Lois was born on June 28, 1939, in the Labrang area of Gansu Province, China, to Marion and Blanche Griebenow, who served as missionaries to Tibet with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. Her three brothers, also born on the mission field, were George, Grant, and Paul Vernor.

As a missionary kid, her early life was characterized by frequent movement. By age 20, she had lived in Tibet, Texas, Delaware, Georgia, Israel, Iowa, and Illinois.

Lois graduated from high school at Wheaton Academy in Illinois and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Nyack College in New York.

She married Donald Kemerer (later divorced) and together they had one son, Keith Kemerer.

She dedicated 16 years to teaching as an elementary school educator in Pennsylvania before moving to California and transitioning to a career with the IRS as a tax analyst. She retired after 23 years of faithful government service.

In 2006, Lois moved to Loveland, Colorado to be near her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters. In Loveland, she met Don Morgan and together they shared many adventures. Don remained by her side for the last 18 years with unwavering love and devotion.

Lois's faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. She loved reading her Bible, attending church faithfully, and was an active member of Women in the Word. She faithfully served in her local NARFE chapter, West Wind Village HOA, and the New Friendships Club, where she made many friends.

Lois cherished her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Debbie Kemerer, and her four granddaughters: Emily, Julia (married to Christian Parsons), Natalie, and Sophia. She loved her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law Elaine Griebenow, Dottie Griebenow, Patricia (Kemerer) Bisko, and Luella Kemerer.

In her free time, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, teaching piano, walking outdoors, painting and drawing, reading, watching football games, and spending time with her granddaughters.

Lois is now in her permanent home in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus!

A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 2, 2026, at Faith Church Loveland, 2707 Wilson Ave, Loveland, CO 80538.
