Jeannine Carroll Jones, age 89, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on December 30, 2025.
Jeannine was born in 1936 at Fort Lewis, Washington, to Emma Brand and John Scott. She was lovingly raised by her mother Emma and her husband, Ole John Olsen. She spent most of her life in Tacoma, where she built a legacy rooted in faith, family, and compassion.
She was a member of the first graduating class of Franklin Pierce High School in 1955, an accomplishment she remained proud of throughout her life.
Jeannine was a devoted woman of faith and spent her life sharing her love for God as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her faith guided her daily life and shaped the kindness, generosity, and humility she showed to everyone she encountered.
She was creative, resilient, and known for her wicked sense of humor. Even when she had very little herself, Jeannine always found a way to help those around her who were struggling. Her strength, warmth, and selflessness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dana Paul Jones; her sisters Ruby Scott, JoyAnn Scott Campbell, and Evelyn Piersee; and her brother William Scott.
She is survived by her siblings JoAnn Scott, Steven Olsen, Richard Olsen, and Walter Olsen; her children Dixie Jones, Bonnie McCray, Douglas Jones, Jennifer Shihn, and Sarah Jones; along with 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on February 7th at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2308 S. Cushman Ave., Tacoma, WA 98405.
