Anita Fielder was born in Springfield, Ohio on January 26, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evangeline Naffziger Linebaugh. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended Wittenberg College in Springfield. She and the late Rev. Frederick Fiedler were married in 1954 and lived a cherished life together.

Anita's vocation was split between her volunteer work with their churches and as the Director of Leisure Services in retirement communities. Anita planted the seeds of her faith in many children as she led children's sermons, Sunday school, VBS programs, and children's choirs, always incorporating entertaining stories or magic tricks in all she did. While working with the aging population, she used her creativity, patience and organizational skills to plan daily activities and large events, often making the local newspapers for her unique and ingenious programs.

Anita loved to do crafts, dance, bake, and sing, but her passion was being a wordsmith and poet. She used words to immortalize moments and memories that were special to her. This talent allowed others to share these memories in a way that made you feel as if you were there. She was also an avid genealogist and traced her family tree back to1525. She found joy in sharing her family's history with those around her and she made many lifelong friends through her genealogical research.

Anita was never known to say a harsh word about anyone and was prone to look for the good in everyone. She valued truth and honesty in everything that she did. Her smile, kind words and warm demeanor cemented her way into the hearts of all who knew her.

Anita and Fred were parents of four children; Daniel Fiedler, Deborah Clement (Allen Clement), Randall Fiedler, and Rebecca Wallace (Dale Wallace), five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of seventy years, Fred Fiedler, and a great-grandson, Joshua Wallace.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the pastors and laypersons from Advent Lutheran Church who surrounded her with love and prayers. We would also like to thank the staff at Madison Heights, Lake Crossing, and Georgia Hospice Care for their loving care and attention. And a special thank you to dear friends, Sherri and Bill Kumle and Tracie Parker who offered unconditional love and friendship.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Lutheran World Relief at www.lwr.org or Advent Lutheran Church, 3232 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30907.
