It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Don Richard Boutwell, who left us on October 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on March 27, 1945, in Kingman, Arizona, Don was a cherished son, brother, father, and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Don proudly served his country as a Marine, completing two tours in Vietnam. His dedication to service did not end there; he went on to enjoy a fulfilling career as a lineman and later as an ironworker with Local 709 out of Pooler, Georgia. Beyond his professional accomplishments, it was his unwavering love for family that defined him. Don was the kind of guy who made it a point to check in on his kids and grandkids several times a week, always ready with a word of advice or a funny story from his life experiences. He was a true dog lover and often had several furry companions by his side. Those who knew Don will remember his honest, kind-hearted nature and his ability to make everyone around him smile. Whether it was tinkering away in his workshop or enjoying the great outdoors, Don was always happiest when he was surrounded by nature, deer hunting, fishing, or catching a classic western or football game. Don is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Marie Riemann; sons, Jason Richard and Jody Michael (and Kyla) Boutwell; and daughter Michelle Ritter. He also leaves behind a large family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Austin and Matthew Puckett; Caitlin (Jamie), Jessica, Masie (Matthew), Isabella, Katherine, Alex, Amber Marie, Hayleigh Sylvia, and Samantha (Logan) Brannan; as well as great-grandchildren Maverick, Brayden, Remi Alexander, and Emma Randall, and Mariah Ritter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boynton Jack and Hazel Evelyn Boutwell, and his sister, Linda Kelly. A memorial service will be held in his honor at Steele's Family Funeral Home located at 207 Burns Lane, Winter Haven, Florida, on February 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors or Paralyzed Veterans of America, two causes close to Don's heart. Don will be remembered as a loyal, ambitious, and funny man who turned everyday moments into lasting memories. His legacy of love and kindness will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Don; you will be dearly missed.
