The family of JoAnne Francis (Hartje) Ciolli, age 94, announces her peaceful passing on January 27, 2026. JoAnne leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, creativity, and deep devotion to God, her family, and her community. 

Born in Rockford, Illinois, JoAnne later moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1959, where she made her home for the remainder of her life. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Kjellstrom, Donald Ciolli, her beloved sons Kreg Kjellstrom (Margaret), Kurt Kjellstrom, and her grandson Benjamin Kjellstrom (Jessica).

JoAnne is survived by her children Karl Kjellstrom (Alexis), Karin Smith (Craig), and Kristine Inman (Rick); nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

A truly generous spirit, JoAnne supported many local and national charities throughout her life, with a special place in her heart for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA), the Tucson Women’s Club, and the White Mountain Women’s Club.

JoAnne’s greatest joy was in family gatherings filled with love and laughter. She had a gift for bringing people together whether by hosting parties, playing cards, or sharing her passion for crafts. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, homemaker, and savvy businesswoman. During her working years, she was employed by Petrolane Gas Company and Burr-Brown Corporation. After retiring, she pursued her creative talents by founding Southwest Sewing Sensations, selling her beautiful handmade creations at craft fairs throughout Arizona.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Bring’s Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, Arizona 85710.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in JoAnne’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

JoAnne will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, creativity, and the many lives she touched.
