Danny Eugene Rooks, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 30, 2026. Danny was born on January 16, 1954, in Columbia, SC to the late Gene and Betty Rooks.
Danny served 3 years in the US Navy from July 1972 - July 1975, after which, he was honorably discharged receiving a National Defense Service medal for serving during active wartime.
Danny was a fun-loving, carefree guy who lived life to the fullest. He loved his family, his grandkids, and his Gamecocks! Danny enjoyed family cookouts, playing poker, shooting pool, and any Gamecock sporting event.
Danny is survived by his son, Brian (Donnette), daughters, Danielle and Garnett, and his sister, Dianne (Donnie). He also leaves behind his six beloved grandchildren: Jaiden (15), Olivia (13), Marshall (12), Riley (9). Benji (8), and Koda (3).
Danny will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We take comfort in knowing he is resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus. At his request, a private celebration of life will be held for family and close friends.
