Eileen LaVina (McEntire) Alexander passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Eileen was born on April 10, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas to Clifton Wayne and LaVina (Barnes) McEntire.

A loving wife and devoted mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Alexander, daughters Kris Dunlap and Sarah Harris, brother and sister-in-law Les & Jeanie McEntire, sister and brother-in-law Darrel & Karla Slechta, grandchildren David and Sam Harris, son-in-law James Dunlap, as well as five nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed!

Eileen grew up in Kansas and her family moved to New Mexico for a brief time before returning to Kansas where she attended college. She met Ron Alexander at church where Eileen's father was Ron's Boy Scout leader. After marriage and Ron's graduation, they moved to Rochester, New York where Ron was employed at Kodak.

When Eastman Kodak opened in Windsor, Colorado, they moved to Fort Collins with their then 5 year old daughter, Kris. Shortly thereafter their second daughter, Sarah was born. They became involved in Newcomers Club, bridge groups, and CME (Christian Marriage Encounter) in Fort Collins where they met individuals and couples who would become lifelong friends. Eileen also enjoyed many quilting and neighborhood groups over the years with Happy Scrappers and Linden Ladies  being favorites.

Eileen greatly loved her family and friends and was very caring toward new acquaintances. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts, often donating them, and helping to provide “Comfort Quilts” to those whose loved one just passed away. Eileen also donated knit hats to charity causes and other lovely handmade items. Eileen throughout her life looked after her family, friends, neighbors, and the elderly by cooking meals, bringing flowers, calling, and visiting often.

Flowers, especially sweet peas and daisies, were a favorite of Eileen’s and she has passed this enjoyment of gardening on to her daughters. In May, Eileen celebrated her 80th birthday and her family held a large party with a sweet pea theme. Her family is grateful to all who were able to attend and share a beautiful time.

Eileen will be remembered and honored for her quiet, gentle, and loving example of living life.
