Vickie Lynn Tate, 70, of Lexington passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026. She was born to the late Wallace Lee and Joyce Hockensmith Tate on July 15, 1955 in Versailles, Ky. Vickie graduated from Tates Creek High School in Lexington, class of 1973. She worked in many positions, including at Square D Company and Good Samaritan Hospital. She retired from Kentucky Medical Services Foundation (KMSF) where she worked in billing.

Vickie is survived by her beloved goddaughter, Cheyanna White and her good friend, Mike Koch. She is also survived by many other loving friends and family members. No service is planned at this time. Memorial donations are suggested to your local humane society or to the church of your choice.

“Vickie was a beloved friend to her neighbors and others but to me she was more than just a godmother, she was my mom. She became my savior as a kid, the support I needed through life. My best friend and the best mother I could have ever asked for, I will always try to stay on the path she had for me and live up to her hopes. She became the laughter and joy in my life as well as the responsibilities that I needed. I love her so much and I know she's in heaven yelling at me to stay happy.” -Cheyanna
