Frederick J. LaPan, Jr., 75, of Fultonville, passed away on February 13, 2026, at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Schenectady on April 11, 1950, to Frederick and Catherine LaPan.
Frederick was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. For many years, he applied his meticulous craft as a taxidermist. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished his time spent hunting and fishing, embracing nature's beauty and challenges. He was proud of his Native American Heritage. His love for animals was evident to all who knew him, especially through the companionship he shared with his beloved dogs. Above all, Frederick treasured the moments spent with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jo-Ann; his loving children, Tammy (Michael) Sweet and Jason (Tina) LaPan; his cherished grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Ferracane and Joshua Blakeslee; and his two adored great-grandchildren, Eastyn Hansberger and Lucy Ferracane.
A celebration of Frederick's life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home.
