Sandra Kay Thompson, 86, a devoted wife of 59 years to William Albert Thompson of Plainview, Texas, who preceded her in death, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a beautiful and lasting legacy of faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Known lovingly as “Mema,” she was the heart of her family. She was a devoted mother to Arland Thompson, Theresa Heck, Connie Koon, and Christina Stork. A cherished mother-in-law, and a beloved grandmother to Erin, Andrea, Heather, Hollie, John, Eva, Max, and Marcus. She also adored her great-grandchildren Kylie, Margo, Rhodes, Silas and Vero. Her home was a place of warmth, prayer, laughter, and unconditional love. She carried herself with humility and quiet strength, always putting others before herself.

Sandra was steadfast in her dedication to public service. She devoted 30 years to teaching at Coronado Middle School in Plainview, shaping young lives with commitment and care. In addition, she faithfully served for 40 years at Calvary Baptist Church.

For more than three decades, she was deeply loved and respected by her students and by her church family.

Yes, we must also mention that Sandra was quite the seamstress, gifted in creating her own unique designs — from children’s clothing to beautiful prom dresses and elaborate costumes. Her creativity and attention to detail were just another reflection of the love she poured into everything she did.

She built a life filled with loyal friends — women who knew her stories, her strength, and her style. Those friendships were steady and enduring, much like her.

After retirement, Sandra became a beloved dog mom to Rose and Lily who was treated with the same care and devotion she gave to everyone she loved.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing our Mom and Mema is now at peace, rejoicing in Heaven, and hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her life touched many, and her memory will live on through the generations she leaves behind.
