Betty Genevieve Lamb, 100, of Indian Trail, North Carolina was carried by the angels into Heaven on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Born on October 8, 1925 in Fort Mill, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Ogburn, one of five daughters. She held Ft. Mill in high esteem and felt she led an idyllic childhood; her face lit up whenever someone mentioned Ft. Mill and she was always ready to talk about her life there.
Betty was the matriarch of the family and her family was her joy. She took great delight in preparing and hosting the family holiday dinners and having her family together.
She is survived by her children: Carolyn "Carol" Blackwood (Barry), Michael Lamb Whitestone; grandchildren: Connor Blackwood (Debbie), Shana Millenaar, Jason Blackwood (Adrienne), Melissa & Micah Lamb, Gazen Lamb, Robert & Amber Randolph, Joshua Lamb, Tommy & Stephen Lamb; great grandchildren: Joshua & Thomas Blackwood, Lilyana & Katelyn Millenaar, Alexandra & Emmett Blackwood, Kayden Randolph, and sister, Naomi "Tweet" Adkins, and many more loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Lamb; two children: Judith Randolph and Stephen Lamb, sisters: Dorothy White, Draper Gordon, and Mabel Wise.
Betty was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a member of St. Francis Methodist Church where she worshipped for many years. Her church family was very dear to her heart.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. with a service to begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026 at St. Francis Methodist Church, 4200 McKee Road Charlotte, NC 28270. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026 at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road Charlotte, NC 28205.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Union County for the excellent care they provided over the past year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W Roosevelt Boulevard, Monroe, NC 28110.
To God be the Glory!
