Mrs. Ana Maria Harrison, 71, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 surrounded by her beloved family.
Born in Montreal, Canada on April 4, 1954, raised by her loving parents, Manuel and Amalia Mencia, she had fond memories of early life in Cuba and growing up in Falls Church, Virginia with her brothers and sister. She attended St. Anthony of Padua grade school and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School. She was married on September 3, 1976, and was a loving wife of 49 years to Steve. She spent her adult years working as an Administrative Assistant in various fields, enjoying life and having lots of good times with friends and family. Ana was best known for her fun-loving spirit, her thoughtfulness, her love for others, and of course her nicknames or personalized song if she had one for you. She was crafty and innovative, loved traveling, adored music and fast cars, cherished long car rides with her husband and, above all, her large, beautiful family who she always made sure felt loved. She was a true matriarch.
Preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Amalia; her sister Cristina and her brother Miguel.
She is survived by her husband Steve; daughter Michelle (Jorge); granddaughters Monica and Lea; brothers Manny (Cecilia) and Jack (Lauren); brother-in-law Alan (Dawn); nieces and nephews Mallory, Olivia, Cameron, Dustin, Carly, Alexa, Nick, Sara and Emil; nine great nieces and nephews; and three godchildren.
The family invites all who knew Ana to join in commemorating her life, sharing memories, and honoring her spirit with us. We will have a reception at Steve & Ana's house following the mass & interment.
