June Strickland Brittingham passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida at the age of 104. Born on December 11, 1921, in NY, NY, June spent her childhood days between Daytona Beach, FL and Cartersville, GA. June was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who left an immeasurable impact on everyone blessed to know her. June is survived by her beloved daughters, Beth (Steve) Lindsey and Leslie (Jeff) Schar, who carry on her vibrant spirit. She took great joy in her grandchildren—Josh (Andrea) Lindsey, Robert (Adana) Lindsey, Taylor Schar, and Jake Schar, and her great-grandsons -Rowan and Rhodes Lindsey. She is also survived by her sister, Laurette Smith, Cartersville, GA,  and nieces Sue (Joel) Bentley, Useppa Island, FL and Joanne (Jim) Pugh, Cartersville, GA.  She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Arthur W. Brittingham (d. 2002) and her nephew, Stuart Smith (d. 1995). June and Arthur were early residents of Brevard County arriving in 1957 with RCA and settling on South Merritt Island.  June was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, reflecting her deep appreciation of history and heritage. Those who knew June best will remember her love of gardening and her love of her cherished pet dogs, who were always by her side. June enjoyed reading a variety of books, playing bridge with her friends, and attending church services at the Satellite Beach United Methodist Church. While there will be a Celebration of Life for June in her hometown of Cartersville, Georgia, at a later date, her spirit will live on in the memories shared by family and friends. June’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty and joy she cultivated throughout her incredible life.
