Mary Kay Yennie passed away peacefully under hospice care at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, on February 28, 2026.
She was born in Galveston, Texas on February 2, 1932, the only child of John and Ottilia Kearney.
She attended Eagle Lake (TX) High School and graduated from Dominican High School in Galveston. She attended the University of Texas, where she studied elementary education.
She was a devoted wife and mother and raised a family of four children.
She accompanied her husband, Eugene, a career Air Force officer, on various assignments around the world, including California, England, Panama, Washington, D.C. and Tampa, Florida.
She is survived by her children, Niki Smith (T. Allan), John Yennie (Nancy), Lois Turnwald (Tom), and MaryJo Cillian (Joe) as well as 10 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband (Eugene).
