Jon David Barkley, originally of Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. Born on November 24, 1945, Jon lived a life defined by strength, loyalty, adventure, and deep devotion to his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Barkley; his daughters, Tammy Levesque and Tina Levesque; and his cherished grandchildren, Cody Wight (Kyla Barr), Jennifer Wight (James Hogan), and Erin Levesque (Cameron Lachapelle).
He was also a proud bonus grandfather to Jason (Coty), Ben, Sam Sutton; Rachel (Daniel) McKenzie and a loving Pepere to Leona and Kameron Sutton.
Jon will be deeply missed by his dear friends, Ron and Julia Hawkins and their daughter Karla Sullivan (Dan and their children Maxwell and Oliver); Brad and Corrisa Sutton; Guy, Sherri and their children Jeremy, and Jacquie Jordan (Rob and Mac) and many other friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Young, and is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Young.
Jon proudly served in the United States Navy from November 1965 to January 1995, including service in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. After retiring, he worked in Boston as a Supervisor in Computer Operations. It was during this chapter of his life that he met his wife, Judy. They later made their forever home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Jon loved fishing, hunting, camping, scuba diving and riding with his motorcycle group. He built lifelong friendships wherever he went and will be remembered for his strength, adventurous spirit, and unwavering loyalty.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Daniel Shonebarger, Dr. Katherine Tzou, and the medical team at UC Health for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life and Military Funeral Service will be announced at a later date.
