Marilyn Olivia Gunn, 86, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.
She loved her Lord, Jesus, and was a dedicated Christian who devoted her life to God and her family. Marilyn never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She loved to dote on and spoil her grand and great grandchildren as well as her “granddogs”.
She is survived by her children, Janice (Eddie) Satterfield, James Lynch, Tammy (David) Holland, and Kelly (Steven) Smith; nine stepchildren; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Phil Gunn.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in Marilyn’s name.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 12pm at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209. A visitation will be held at 11am. Burial will take place in Serenity Gardens following the chapel service. Pastor Eddie Coakley of Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tommy Satterfield, Cameron Smith, Nicholas Holland, Nathan Holland, Artem Lynch, Andrew Satterfield, and Mitchell Davis.
