Henry Astor Eller, 85, went to be with the Lord the afternoon of March 3rd, 2026. Henry was born to the late Henry Haywood Eller and Jennie Mae Mull Eller on April 18th, 1940. Henry had a love of life that centered around friends and music. He was always the last to leave any gathering. A graduate of A.L. Brown High School class of 1960, he was well liked in the classroom, served as sophomore vice-president and excelled at football and track. Henry served in the Air Force for 4 years where he learned to keep a pressed uniform and an orderly house, traits he carried with him the remainder of his life. Later in life Henry enjoyed golf and coaching optimist football. At his core Henry was a salesman with personality and charm.
He is preceded in death by his older brother, Terris Eller, nephew Telly Eller and long time partner Shirley Moore of Wilmington, NC.
He is survived by his son, Chris Eller and wife Jill, grandchildren, Catie, Owen and Grayson, his brother Ron Eller and wife Sandy of Sunset Beach, three nieces Ashley Goodrich, Tricia O’quinn, Terri Phillips, one nephew, Rusty Eller and many great nieces and nephews and former wife, Imeldia Morris Eller. Lastly, his many wonderful friends, too many to name here, include Chip Logan, Buddy Marlin, Brian Godfrey, Jimmy Curlee and Vernon Morris.
A graveside memorial for Henry will be held Saturday, March 14th 12:45 at Carolina Memorial Park: 601 Mt. Olivet Rd., Kannapolis NC 28083 Maple Garden Section.
