Bruce H. Overdahl, 77, of Lake Mills passed away surrounded by the love and memories of his family and friends in Jefferson. Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from July 24, 1967, to May 5, 1972. Through dedication and hard work, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in just three years. During his service, he received numerous commendations, including an Outstanding Letter of Accomplishment in Southeast Asia from the Defense Language Institute, the Vietnamese Training Ribbon, Outstanding Unit Commendation, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship recognition, the Good Conduct Medal, Longevity Award, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Ribbon. Bruce valued education and lifelong learning. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, the University of Maryland, San Antonio College, and Madison Area Technical College. He earned an Associate Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Welfare–Psychology. Bruce is survived by his son, Todd (Melissa) Overdahl, and his cherished grandchildren: Samantha (Adam) Lehman, Dakota, Mya, Alison, Andrea Olszak, and Owen Kempf. He is also survived by many other family members and friends who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Overdahl and Bartley Overdahl, as well as Diane Renz VISITATION: The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Schneider Michaelis Funeral Home, 900 W. Racine St., Jefferson. From 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. SERVICE: A funeral service in remembrance of Bruce will be at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with burial and Military Honors to follow. Bruce will be remembered for his service, dedication, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched. Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home has been entrusted in Bruce’s arrangements.
